The Cherry Pickers

The Cherry Pickers’ unique take on Bluegrass has been winning over audiences for nearly a decade. Whether it’s Ralph Stanley or Paul Stanley, every song gets that “Cherry Pickers sound”. Their tasty arrangements are reverent to the Bluegrass tradition as well as to the original songs, such that they defy any hillbilly stigma. The Cherry Pickers appear regularly around Adelaide and have played and many festivals around the country including the National Bluegrass Festival, the Kelly Country Pick, JamGrass “on the road”, the  Fleurieu Folk Festival and the Wirinna Bluegrass Festival.

The Cherry Pickers are:

Mark Bandick – Guitar, vocals
Paul Cooper – Banjo, vocals
Rob Cooper – Dobro, vocals
Lou Evangelistis – Mandolin, vocals
Max Wright – Bass, vocals

Down From The Mountain

Hailing from the Adelaide Hills, 'Down From The Mountain' is a new and exciting five piece a Capella choir delving into the current roots revival movement.

Formed less than two years ago, 'Down From The Mountain's main emphasis is to bring original work and distinctive arrangements to a genre not normally associated with a Capella music.

Alt Country inspiration with Gospel and folk melodies. They have successfully forged their own innovative sound, having created their own material. Keep an ear out for their title tracks 'Hillside Home', 'I Don't Believe' and 'Freight Train'. They have also explored artist's such as Feist, Bon Iver, Alison Krauss, Paul Kelly and Robyn.

Down From The Mountain have been performing around various venues throughout Adelaide and it's regions. They have a deep, rich sound sitting right in the heart of folk and country and light years away from Doo-Wop!

The Heggarties Christmas Special!
Ticket Price TBA

Cabaret Style - Allocated Seating - Bookings Recommended

Born in 2009 out of the black, volcanic soil, under the green wallaby grass, among the haunting hues of the grey box forest of the Adelaide Hills, The Heggarties began life as a simple vehicle (a HQ Holden, let’s say), for getting around playing the songs by their most revered and adored artists : Lucinda Williams, Ryan Adams, Steve Earle, Bob Dylan, The Decemberists and The Steeldrivers to name a few. It was an eclectic mix of ballads, toe tappers and a few things inbetween; mostly American in origin, but also with a measure of saltwater covered, celtic folk spirit.

Fast forward six years and The Heggarties today are a solid five piece alt country and roots outfit (a mint ‘55 Chevy convertible, let’s say) comprising a posse of creative and talented
troubadours who write and regularly perform their own songs within and around Adelaide.
Influenced by the aforementioned great artists and the timeless atmosphere of the Hills, they’ve managed to uncover their own unique and compelling voice; awash in harmony, blessed with the stunning country vocals of Wren Heggart, the bourbon-drenched vocal snarls and rum-soaked blues harp of Paul Heggart, the evocative and masterful brushstrokes of Steve Lennox on mandolin, ukulele, cigar box guitar, and slide guitar, and driven with a deep and gutsy feel by the powerful rhythm section of Tim Bodman on bass and the young and brilliant Max Tulysewski on drums.

Their debut EP ‘Incidentally, The Heggarties’ is available to download via Bandcamp.
